Walk into a brick two-story in Norwood, a Cape Cod in Cheviot, or a four-square in Northside and you’ll find the same thing: a small kitchen with a doorway to the dining room and a wall between them. That wasn’t an oversight. When these houses were built, the kitchen was a work room — you cooked in it, you didn’t live in it.

Almost nobody wants that now. The single most requested kitchen project we do isn’t new cabinets. It’s taking that wall out.

Sink and dishwasher relocation, gas line runs, pot fillers, and appliance fit and installation.

Flooring

Hardwood, tile, and luxury vinyl plank, with subfloor leveling where the house needs it.

Are you licensed and insured?

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most run four to eight weeks of build time. Cabinet lead times run separately and often longer than the build itself, which is why we order early and schedule demo around the delivery date instead of the other way around.

Can I remove the wall between my kitchen and dining room?

Usually, yes — but it depends on whether it’s carrying load and what’s running inside it. We open a small section to check before pricing the job. If it’s load-bearing, a properly sized beam takes over the load, and the ceiling ends up flush or with a small drop depending on the span.

Will I be without a kitchen the whole time?

For most of it. We’ll help you set up a temporary space with the refrigerator and microwave somewhere accessible, and we sequence the work so appliances go back in as early as the schedule allows.

Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel?

Cosmetic work usually doesn’t. Removing a wall, moving plumbing, or adding circuits does. We pull whatever the job requires and schedule the inspections.

When should I pick out cabinets and countertops?

Cabinets first and early — everything else follows from that layout. Countertops get templated after the cabinets are physically set, so those selections can happen later without holding up the schedule.
